The Preamble

Our School Program

Extends from Crèche to Grade 5. Pupils have to be atleast 3 months old and above at the point of admission to enroll into our comprehensive programs.
To be considered for Grace Citadel Schools, children must complete an application form, and pass our assessment. We encourage applications before the first term or second term of a child’s chosen academic year. This is only applicable to prenursery, nursery and postnursery pupils of the school.
We admit children into a current school year for most months during the year except April to early July.
Admission sought between April to early July is deferred until the start of the following school academic year (September).
After a successful scheduled entrance exam, an interview follows where both the child and their parents/guardians are present.
We anticipate that all children coming into our Crèche, pre-nursery and nursery counterparts will continue their academic journey in Grace Citadel Schools grade classes.
Pupils from Crèche who wish to attend our grade school are given the opportunity to partake in The Grace Citadel Foundation Scholarship (TGCFS). Scholars will obtain fully funded scholarship grant to cover all tuition fees through the four-walls of the school.
For children in both pre-foundation and foundation programs who wish to move up to Grade 1 (Post foundation program), the transition class are given an entrance admission test. The next stage of the admission process is an interview/developmental assessment at the school premises.
Lastly, the parents are given the commitment fee invoice.
Once this payment is made, the necessary pre-admission forms are completed by the parents and the admission letter is given to the parents.

Today the Montessori model is followed in our crèche program. The head teachers are experienced educators with specialized training in the method, with its emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s psychological, physical, and social development. The positive benefits from each crèche ripple throughout their community. Older children, who were often kept home from school to care for younger siblings, are able to return to school. Parents who work as laborers in the fields, stone quarries or forests know that their children are cared for while they are away at work. Children who “graduate” from our crèches are popular candidates for admission at better quality area schools because their sound foundation and potential are recognized. Crèche graduates usually finish elementary school with brilliant results, most go on to high school, and by now, some are in or have already completed college. As adults, they have the tools to provide for their own families and to contribute to their communities. Each classroom is equipped with learning corners designed to enhance different areas of learning, such as reading, art, block play, nature exploration, home play, and more.

Our professional Early Year educators ensure that all pupils not only meet but surpass the average class targets. We have an Early Academic Intervention Program to provide support to children facing academic challenges, ensuring that no child is left behind.

In our Advanced Foundational classes, we provide a practical and joyful learning environment that aligns with the developmental stages of our students. In our Grade School (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5), we offer an integrated curriculum blending Nigerian and British standards. With a focus on holistic development and 21st-century skills, we foster effective communication, self-discipline, and respect. Our curriculum extends beyond the classroom, promoting teamwork, self-expression, and personal growth.

Grace Citadel Schools’ Grade or Post-Nursery School prepares pupils for the future in a nurturing and dynamic environment.

Our Early Academic Intervention Program supports students facing academic challenges at no additional cost. Our dedicated educators closely observe, monitor, and provide individualized assistance to address specific areas of need.

To ensure continuous progress, our Quality Assurance officers regularly monitor the students’ progress on this program until significant improvements are achieved
