Citizenship through the lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice is more important than ever in an increasingly global and diverse democratic society. By explicitly identifying and teaching the characteristics and skills of citizenship, as well as using research-based practices to address the diverse needs of students, we will graduate pupils who find their own paths and use their unique strengths to impact their communities with empathy, understanding, and courage to tackle the challenges of their times for the good of humanity and the planet.

As GCS enters its seventh decade, we endeavor to shape a cohesive, comprehensive program that leverages the power of interdisciplinary learning from Preschool through 8th grade, incorporates a responsibility to humanity, and supports and celebrates a diverse population of pupils.. By establishing and orienting toward a portrait of an GCS graduate, we will ensure our students are prepared individually and collectively to integrate knowledge creatively, shape their futures, and contribute meaningfully to a more just and compassionate world.
